Why ?

Stranded sailors amidst blue sea,
Men of the ships wrecked are we,
Left alone in an island far,
Underneath the sunshine,below the star.

Eat and drink and love we make,
Live life for life's sake,
Never think about thy grace,
Spending time at a mirthful place.

Yet many a times do we fall,
Listening to an inner call,
Loud as we can we call to thee,
Screaming loud to set us free.

Patient we are, we wait for long,
Yearning to hear your eternal song,
Alas,O lord no voice is heard,
No sights clear,no omens blurred.

Why are we ashore,know we not,
Wondering forever ,never taught,
In hapless despair do we sigh,
Aloof in an island not knowing why.
